Modern Basketry Workshop with Tabara N'diaye

  • The Forge Colston Yard Bristol, England United Kingdom (map)

Join us for an exclusive basket-weaving workshop with Tabara N’Diaye of La Basketry and discover the timeless art of coiling - a basket-weaving technique cherished and passed down through generations.

In this hands-on session, you’ll weave a unique basket using colourful twine in shades of your choice. This beautiful creation is perfect for storing your favourite treasures or keepsakes, whether proudly displayed on a dresser or tucked away for safekeeping.

Unleash your creativity and craft a piece that reflects your own style and imagination. Plus, as a special bonus, each participant will receive a signed copy of Tabara’s latest book, Woven, which delves into making fashionable accessories like basket bags, earrings, and hair accessories.

Tabara N’Diaye is a creative designer, author, and the founder of La Basketry, a vibrant lifestyle brand that originated from her passion for handwoven homeware and accessories crafted in collaboration with female artisans in her native Senegal.

Driven by a mission to redefine basket-making as ‘fun and accessible’, Tabara has fostered
a community of basket enthusiasts through innovative projects, engaging workshops, DIY kits, and her acclaimed debut book Baskets, translated into five languages alongside English since its publication in 2019. Her second book “Woven” will be published in September 2024 by Quadrille/Penguin.
